Composites by KREMPEL in filament-winding techniques

Aerospace without fibre composites is unthinkable. Both the primary structures subjected to high loads as well as constructions for the interior continually put the performance of these to the test.

For particularly demanding and intricate applications, tubes are available from KREMPEL made using filament-winding techniques. The hollow blanks used here have to be constructed for almost complete rotational symmetry, whereby the cross-section may be round, elliptical, oval, rectangular or a polygonal shape. Appropriately selecting the fibres, resins, layer structures and the cross-section for the application in question can realise components having the required customer-specific properties. Combinations of fibres are often used for reasons of costs and stability. The winding angle can vary between 0° and 90°, whereby the differentiation is made between parallel-winding, cross-winding and axial methods. Combinations of these techniques make it possible to realise very specific strength characteristics in different load-bearing directions.
