Impregnating
Today, the Vaihingen Plant is the "Plastics Centre" of our company. KREMPEL prepregs are manufactured using several different impregnating systems. We "impregnate" fabrics, non-wovens, rovings and warps with synthetic resins. The resins normally still remain reactive and only cure to completion during subsequent processing. The reinforcing materials we use include glass, carbon and/or aramide fibres.
KREMPEL prepregs (PREimPREGnated material) are used as insulating materials in dry-type transformers and electric motors, or as the intermediate material for manufacturing components.
Resin-impregnated products
HYPERFIL prepregs are made by JSI from glass, polyester and carbon-fibre fabrics which are impregnated with resin on various vertical impregnating lines. Characteristic of this manufacturing technique is that the resins are still in the reactive B-state. Curing takes place later as part of further processing by the customer.
JSI HYPERSEAL sealing tapes are polyester or glass tapes with an epoxy or polyester-resin impregnation. These sealing and finishing tapes are cut into narrow reels as specified by the customer. HYPERTEN banding tape is made by impregnating unidirectional glass tape with resin, winding and cutting into reels.
