For optical reasons and insulation purposes, narrow strips are used, depending on the confi guration of the module. These are available in narrow design and in same color as the backsheet.

Repair tapes are available in case of minor damage to the backsheet during transport or installation of the PV modules, these are moisture/heat and temperature-resistant after crosslinking. They can be processed cold on the completed module. A combined laminate with a copper layer is available on request as basic material for back-contact solar cells.

The backsheet laminates are available as rolls or pre-cut pieces with and without press cuts. Standard widths are 810, 1000 and 1650 mm. The maximum width is 2500 mm. Narrow roll widths are also available for special modules such as network-independent solutions with special formats.

To provide optimal traceability, all backsheet laminates are identifi ed with roll labels. As an alternative, permanent labelling in the visual area is available on request.

The storability of AKASOL® in dry places and at room temperature is at least six months. No special instructions need to be followed for laminating with encapsulating plastics. The recommendations by the manufacturers of the appropriate encapsulating polymers are to be taken as manufacturing parameters for the vacuum lamination process.
