We also offer flexible copper clad laminates and coverlay (FCCL & CL) for flexible printed circuits (FPC). Our PREPREG systems are the ideal foundations for lightweight, high-strength structural
components. Glass, carbon and aramid fibres are impregnated with resins tailored to your exact specification.
Our fibre-reinforced plastic profiles are pultrusion profiles made from glass, carbon and aramid fibres. FMV SS 302 also available on request.
By selecting the fibre type and resin system specifically for the application, we can offer you our fibre-reinforced plastic sheets, in order to create sheet materials with new design features. Our injection and compression mouldings are available in a diverse range of moulded parts – as PEEK, PPS or phenol.

Take-off with KREMPEL: Setting the course for growth in aerospace
The KREMPEL-GROUP signals further growth: the independent producer of modern materials and high-grade semi-finished products invested several million Euros in composite production in the years 2013 and 2014. Successful certification in line with DIN EN 9100 confirms the aerospace expertise of the internationally acting company group since February 2015.
"The quality of our aerospace products is based on over 30 years of experience with demanding projects in the area of High End Composites. This know-how is now evidenced by the DIN EN 9100 certification. As a medium-sized family business, we are now a player in the "Champions League" of industry giants," says Carsten Scherff, managing director, responsible for production and quality at KREMPEL GmbH, "and this is important for our aim of gaining new markets in the aerospace industry." "The potential for this is mirrored in the development of aerospace technology," explains Jürgen Buchner, head of the KREMPEL Composites division, "in Germany alone, the aerospace industry reached average growth rates of eight per cent annually over the past few years. Civil aviation is a strong accelerator, not only in this country, as more and more people fly worldwide."
KREMPEL is ready for take-off with an even stronger presence in this growing market. "Our service range leaves no request unanswered. We produce prepregs, sheets and components made of carbon fibre or glass fibre reinforced plastics to suit customer requirements. One of our specialist field is complex formed 3D components with weights of 3 g to 600 kg. Furthermore, we act as a trading partner for the TEDLAR® polyvinyl-fluoride film", says KREMPEL’s sales manager for composites, Tobias Bässler. Production according to quality standards is fully anchored at KREMPEL. "We are constantly improving our quality management. This is the reason, why we have been successfully re-audited for the past 25 years according to industry specific, as well as cross sector standards," says Dr. Wolfgang Petzold, head of KREMPEL quality management. As one of the first manufacturers of structural components, KREMPEL was certified according to DIN EN ISO 9001 in 1993. Certification according to the automotive norm ISO/TS 16949 was achieved in 2006. Energy management certification as per DIN EN ISO 50001 followed in 2014. The latest certification according to DIN EN 9100 is now the third one successfully achieved by KREMPEL since 1989 specifically for aerospace.
The first KREMPEL aviation products proved themselves in action long before DIN EN 9100 was introduced: the company has supplied support rods for various Airbus types since the beginning of the 1980s. Brand new: pultrusion profiles for the railways in accordance with EN 45545-2:2013
As an exclusive sales partner of Ernst Kühne Kunststoffwerk, the KREMPEL-GROUP offers certified pultrusion profiles for railway applications in accordance with EN 45545-2:2013. The latest additions to the well-established WACOSIT® range of profiles aroused a great deal of interest at Innotrans 2014, the international trade fair for transport technology. Up until now, only a few manufacturers have offered pultruded profiles that meet the European fire safety requirements for materials and components for railway vehicles.
"As a combination of national standards, the current EN 45545-2 standard contains much of our experience in the implementation of fire safety requirements", confirms Dietmar Kühne, Managing Director of Ernst Kühne Kunststoffwerke GmbH & Co. KG. As a pioneer of the pultrusion process, the southern German company has been developing customer-specific plastic profiles since 1967. For eight years it has been producing profiles for railway applications in accordance with the standards of various countries (DIN 5510-2, BS 6853, NF 16-101). With its latest railway profiles, the pultrusion specialist is also now successfully implementing the fire safety requirements in all production stages (processing, primed, assembly) in accordance with EN 45545-2:2013. For example, a base profile for use in internal areas meets the R22 and R23 sets of requirements for hazard level 2 railway vehicles; a roof panel used in external areas also meets the R1, R6 and R7 sets of requirements for hazard level 2.
As an exclusive sales partner of Ernst Kühne Kunststoffwerk, the composite specialists at KREMPEL have been providing customer-orientated support with the implementation of pultrusion profiles for more than 40 years. "We know the potential and limits of a wide range of fibre composite materials from our own production. We incorporate this know-how in close cooperation with our customers", explains Tobias Bässler, Sales Manager of the Composites business division; "For example, we provide material parameters for calculations in accordance with the finite element method". The KREMPEL-GROUP started operating at the end of the 1960's with the production of fibre composite materials and today its products are used in a wide variety of industries worldwide, including in aerospace. "We can produce customer-specific prepregs, panels and components made of carbon or glass-fibre reinforced plastics for various applications", explains Ralph Reiser, Applications Engineer in the Composites business division. "We have already implemented the important properties for the railway sector, such as reduced weight and resistance to corrosion, with many composite products".
